THE WICHITA COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CITIZEN'S ACADEMY
The Wichita County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Academy is for citizens of all backgrounds and occupations. This program is offered as a public service and free of charge. The WCSOCA is a part of our ongoing efforts to develop citizen awareness and public understanding of the Sheriff’s Office. This 42 hour training program includes both classroom and “hands-on” type instruction. Class topics are organized to give participants an in depth look at the different workings of the Sheriff’s Office and law enforcement as a whole. Classes meet every Thursday night from 6pm-9pm for 14 weeks. Graduates will become better informed citizens in a position to share their experiences with friends and co-workers. Graduates may also join the WCSO Citizens Alumni Association and continue their involvement with the Sheriff’s Office through the association’s volunteer activities.
The Wichita County Sheriff's Office Citizen's Academy is under the direction of Deputy Melvin Joyner. If you are interested in attending an upcoming Citizen's Academy please click here for a printable application
